What do Michael Showalter and David Cross have in common? Well besides being two of the funniest comedians this world has to offer, they’ve both had their Comedy Central shows canceled in the last year.
First there was Stella, a one-season-wonder that followed the misadventures of Mr. Showalter, Michael Ian Black and David Wain. I first heard about Stella via my little sister who hooked up a burnt DVD of Stella’s underground shorts. Apparently, the comic trio’s off-beat humor didn’t spawn quite enough laughter to be picked up for Season 2.
Mr. Cross’ animated series, Freak Show didn’t make it past Season 1 either. The world just wasn’t ready for its hilarious cast of characters, including The Bearded Clam, World’s Tallest Nebraskan, Primi the Premature Baby, Log Cabin Republican and Tuck and Benny the Siamese Twins.
